Born in California and educated in Oregon, John is an actor, producer and voiceover artist.
His television credits include recurring roles on the upcoming Jullian Fellowes HBO drama The Gilded Age, Comedy Central’s Awkwafina is Nora from Queens, and Netflix’s Iron Fist, as well as guest starring roles on Succession (HBO), Evil (CBS), Billions (Showtime), The Blacklist (NBC), The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (Netflix), The Following (Fox), and Elementary (CBS).
John has made a number of Broadway appearances, originating such roles as Ned Ryerson in Groundhog Day The Musical, and Sergei in Matilda the Musical. He starred as comic villain Black Stache in the Broadway production and First National Tour of the five-time Tony winning play Peter and the Starcatcher. He has worked off-Broadway with Richard Nelson at The Public in Illyria, and with James Macdonald and Caryl Churchill at The Atlantic in Cloud Nine. John began his career in Chicago, working in that city's famed storefront scene and in it's largest theatres.
John is an accomplished voiceover artist, and can be heard narrating the series One Deadly Mistake on Oxygen, and Ultimate Viper: Fear the Fang on National Geographic. He has been the voice of Mucinex for the last six years, and has voiced dozens of national commercials and promos for the NFL on NBC Sports, Fox Sports, The NFL Network, ESPN, Toyota, Nestle, Nikon, Firehouse Subs, Pennzoil, Trintellix, Opdivo, Finish, Humira, and more.
